338Canada federal update - October 25, 2020

Nine days to go in the U.S. elections. Late Saturday night in British Columbia yesterday. Saskatchewan tomorrow. Tons going on, but then I suddenly thought: "What the hell will I do in November?"

Answer: Rest for a potential winter/spring federal election...?


About British Columbia last night: the model did fairly well, calling the correct winner in 78 of 87 districts, but there were also some misses which will be worth looking at soon. However, it would not be reasonable to go deep into a post-mortem analysis since close to half a million votes will only counted in 12 days or so. Some seats could still flip, and the province-wide popular will for sure change - most likely in favour of the NDP. So I will wait to update the 338 Record So Far page. 

The B.C. polls did generally well, but again I will also wait until all the votes are counted to update the 338 Canadian Pollster Rating page
