We are a mere six months away from the last stretch of the 2020 U.S. elections. While most of attention and time was spent on my full-time job this winter, the recent weeks at home give me an opportunity to study (and obsess over) the numbers from our neighbours to the south. It had been the plan all along with my media contacts to launch the site at some point during the summer, but hey, here it is in mid-April.
Obviously, this project will grow in size and sophistication over the coming months, so what you see now is still in the embryo stages. While I may not have the resources of the great FiveThirtyEight nor The New York Times, I believe the site will be fun to follow along as Donald J. Trump goes for reelection in November.
Naturally, there is a colored map, which you may find here:
The election simulator is still being worked on, but its main aspects are ready, so odds of winning will be updated at first weekly, then more frequently as we approach November.
A full breakdown by state (and D.C. of course) will also be updated regularly with the usually depictions of safe, likely, leaning and toss ups:
To search for a state projection, visit the All 50 states page, where you may use a text box to narrow your search.
There are a lot of polls in the United States, so obviously it would be impossible to list them all, but I will focus on a dozen or so polling firms with solid past records for the national tracker. As for state polls, we will take and what we can get. The preliminary list of national and state polls may be found here.
